About Me
I’m a hands‑on technology leader who enjoys bridging enterprise architecture, engineering and modern cloud/DevOps practices. I recently joined Progressive as a Lead Data Engineer, where I’m exploring generative‑AI solutions and using Python with Azure and AWS to lay the foundation for data‑driven services.
In my previous role as Principal Enterprise Architect at Sherwin‑Williams I guided enterprise architecture initiatives across infrastructure, cloud and DevOps. I refined architecture assurance processes to improve review quality and shorten cycle times, created a technology acquisition framework to vet new tools and led capability modelling and application rationalization using Bizzdesign. I also built a thriving Architecture Community of Practice with special‑interest groups, embedded DevSecOps and observability practices into product teams, and supported governance structures like the Architecture Leadership Council.
At Hyland I wore multiple hats. As Director of Cloud Enablement I led a migration of 17 data centers to AWS and devised multi‑account security and migration patterns. I modernized infrastructure provisioning by moving from PowerShell to Terraform Cloud with secure GitHub‑based pipelines, and I built fully automated and monitored CI/CD pipelines that reduced bottlenecks and accelerated releases. I championed platform thinking by creating reusable modules and coaching teams on cloud‑native delivery. Earlier I served as Director of Public Cloud, defining governance models, starting an enterprise‑wide AWS migration program and developing cost‑optimization practices. As Enterprise Architect for Public Cloud I defined the technology strategy for a managed cloud offering and established blueprints, guardrails and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
I came to these leadership roles through deep engineering experience. As Principal Architect of DevOps I built modern CI/CD frameworks, introduced feature‑flag and blue/green deployments, and automated rollback strategies. I mentored teams on agile delivery and DevSecOps patterns. Earlier I was Solution Architect at Blue Chip Consulting, where I migrated a critical supply‑chain application to Azure with modern pipelines and containerization. I also led software teams in roles at Pleasant Valley Corporation, AXS, OverDrive, and Rosetta, balancing modernization with legacy support, improving CI/CD and observability, building MongoDB clusters in AWS, and mentoring developers.
Across all these roles I’ve learned that strategy only matters when it results in working software, and that the best architecture comes from close collaboration and continuous feedback. If you’re interested in generative‑AI solutions, cloud/DevOps maturity, or making architecture more useful and less theoretical, I’d love to connect.
